At a meeting of the Authority’s Technical, Science and Byelaw Sub-Committee (TSB) yesterday, members voted to adopt a new long-term strategy for the development of new byelaws to support the sustainable management of fisheries across our district. This Byelaw Strategy 2024-2029 can be found here and sets out the Authority’s plan for the development of five new byelaws over the next five years, as well as the phased revocation of all existing legacy byelaws that the Authority inherited when it was created in 2011. It also creates a clear process that the Authority will process in its byelaw development work, along with timeframes that it will aim to work towards.
