Our environmental health partners have today informed us that testing results from the Leasowe cockle bed following the recent oil spill into the River Mersey have come back within acceptable levels.

The means NWIFCA can now put in place the necessary measures to open the fishery as soon as possible. Byelaw 3 permit holders will be informed as soon as an opening date has been determined, and associated flexible permit conditions will be issued ahead of the opening date.
